The staff here often lie when I have asked about checking in on my family member, showering routines, reading and offering him food options and other service's that they report they are providing. I have found that staff, including administration (who is almost impossible to reach) are generally short and ill mannered. Ever since they had a change in admin staff this place has been on a decline. My family member, who is sight impaired, has had money come up missing on more than one occasion and they just do not keep the toilet facilities hygienic. There has been feces splatter in the shared bathrooms and staff just does not clean up after the more disabled residents, I feel sorry for them and their families.The staff have moved my family members things around, which is problematic for a sight impaired person, lost clothing etc from his laundry and a few times they have returned his clothes with someone's belongings in them. There have been times when he has pulled the call string when needing assistance and no one comes, I tested this and no one came for 45 minutes until I went to find a person, the aid was sitting in the staff area playing with her I-phone oblivious or disinterested in the call bell and shucking off my inquiry. There are 3 out of more than a dozen staff that my grandfather trust and feel supported by, others are rude and lazy. I have complained to administration, asked for changes to be handed blatant lies, avoidance of responsibility, lack of interventions and on-going issues. Needless to my family member is moving.

The cottages of Clayton, is rated poor because they do not have around the clock nurse on staff, the daily trash removal,oxygen service is questionable. They do not have 24 hour a day snacks. The weekly housekeeping did not happen. The on site staff attending to your needs 24 hours a day. Was fine for the elderly who could get around but if you needed help then you did not get it. The medicine that was passed out or given to the patients was not all was correct. The place is beautiful on the outside. Needs work with communication between staff and administration.

If you have an elderly family member who needs medication given to her, and given to her correctly DO NOT send her here. The staff here lie and neglect a lot of their patients. I feared for my Grandmother's life while she lived here. I would NEVER recommend this place to ANYONE!
