Sake Miller Lane – I would say this is one of my favorite restaurants in the dayton area. Definitely one of my favorite places to take a date. You dont have to pigeonhole Sake into a chinese food place as they have a wide variety of food offerings.(Steak shrimp Lobster chicken suschi, etc....
Pleasantly surprised! – The waitress was very accommodating and cute (she pronounced her "r's" exactly like you would expect a Japanese person to) and let us not have any crab meat in our dinners. She really worked with us and the food was good the tea was especially fresh green tea..
Great Food-Decent Customer Service, MOST of the time. – I am a sushi fanatic. I bounce between all 3 of the Dayton area Sake restaurants, because of my love for Sushi . Normally, I just get carryout, however, last Sunday, I was on a date there. My date had never been to Sake & wanted to try Sushi for the first time. We requested to sit at the Hibachi table, so that my date could see the chefs entertainment at the Hibachi table. Now, my date wasn't sure that he would only order sushi at that point. Take in mind, the restaurant is pretty much empty. There is only a few guests at our table & at one other table in the restaurant. There are about 4 or 5 other Hibachi tables open. When both my date & I only ordered Sushi-- the chef actually had the nerve to tell us that we had to move, because we didn't order anything off of the Hibachi. Now, I would somewhat understand if the restaurant was packed, but it was not. I explained to him that I'd like to stay at the table, since the restaurant was pretty much empty. He insisted that we move-- all this is happening while the other 4 guests at our table watched in horror at the audacity of him to persist the way he did. He finally said that we could stay there if we wanted to. When I said thank you-- then he changed his mind or something, and promptly helped us move by taking my jacket and menues. It was an embarrassment, being that the rest of the patrons at the table felt the same way I did. There are not rules specified in the restaurant that state you can only sit at the Hibachi if you order from the Hibachi. Some people actually like to make a decision AFTER they look at the menu. I thought it was very rude that he 1) Made us move in the first place & 2) kept insisting that we move, even after we expressed that we'd like to see the show. The only other complaints I have about it, is that they don't open on time. The last time I came in when they open, It took 15 additional minutes (above the prep time) for them to bring my food b/c they hadn't open yet.
Fast, friendly, tasty. – This Japanese restuarant is pretty quick to seat you, and gives the option of a sushi bar, 'regular' tables and booths, or hibachi style group dining. I have tried all three. The sushi is good...nothing to write home about, but it's in Dayton OH...and selection is what you would expect. The meals served at the tables and the hibachi food is very good, and the chefs are friendly and entertaining. I go to this restaurant a lot, but I wonder if there were anything else within 10 miles...
