Lunch & Dessert.
My mother has always thought going to luch was a waste of money.
I wanted to surprise my mother and my daughter (who has made it to Senior status in high school).
They were both in awe just by walking door.
I purchased a shirt for my mother while we were waiting to be seated which impressively was 20 minutes or less.
Along with us was my 10 month old daughter who was also accommodated with a high chair and macaroni and cheese, her favorite!
I know the place was jam packed. Everyone was very busy but it seems as though we did a lot of waiting.
Cold coffee the first time around. Quickly corrected when brought to the first employee's attention that happened along. Another server tried helping our server out and brought our drinks. We had more than enough time to look at the menu. But we waited some more.
Very generous portions arrived. We needed several boxes! We ordered several desserts to take home since we couldn't possibly finish our lunch portions. It was more than eyes bigger than the stomach addage.
We just did a lot of waiting. I don't know if they were understaffed or just too busy to keep up. But I thought The Cheesecake Factory restaurants were always busy like this so I would naturally assume they're used to it.
I finally went to the front to speak to the Hostess to request to speak to a manager. I did expect to wait a minute but soon got frustrated and requested that he meet me at our table. He beat me to our table.
He apologized and compensated us with free desserts which was wonderful. I had no complaints with the food quality or portion sizes only that we did more waiting than we did eating.
I had not a bad word to utter about our server. We understand she was very busy as they all were. We just felt like we did too much waiting.
All the employees at this restaurant were very friendly, social and helpful.
All in all. I would take my family back again. The compensation was enough to erase the bad taste in our mouths about doing so much waiting.
And when you have patrons that aren't so good at being patient anyway, it is a big deal.
Thank you Cheesecake Factory. We still had a wonderful time!!!
Now after all the talk and excitement, my twins are anxious to come and dine at "a fancy restaurant". I can't wait until I have the opportunity to do so.
Decadent cheesecakes and classic American cuisine makes this a popular chain..
In Short
Faux-rustic finishes and colorful light fixtures abound at this almost always crowded chain. The thick-as-a-book menu features Americanized versions of worldly cuisines--Mexican, Vietnamese, Italian, Thai--but succeeds best with American classics. Burgers are a good choice, especially the ""Roadside Sliders,"" mini burgers served as appetizers. The myriad cheesecakes are over-the-top in concept and decadence. You'll leave full, with leftovers.
Cheesey Review....
Well, what a let down this was...in the end, all unfounded. The wife and I went here for our anniversary...we spent over 120$ on 1 app., 2 mains, 2 desserts, 3 drinks, and a pizza for the kids.
First, let me make one point for those who have kids...there is no kids menu. In a setting ("The Greene") where family atmosphere is promoted, how can a restaurant not have a kids menu...seriously. And don't tell me the Cheesecake factory is a fine dining joint that is not designed for kids...if that's the case, why are there changing tables in the restrooms? Anyway...if you have kids and are still interested in heading here after getting all the way through my review, find a sitter because they are best left at home. Now...on to the food.
First off let me say that it's not all bad. There are some good appetizers (I've eaten there more than once, but not because I was choosing where to go), but I've yet to have a GOOD main course. The avocado rolls are good, and possibly the only thing I've had that I would actually consider going back for. The mains are all o.k...but for the ridiculous price it's just not that good, and I've yet to find something I would order again. I think they compensate for mediocre food by shoveling a good 5 pounds worth on plates that could double as rims for a car. The pastas are o.k., the pork tenderloin I've had is a complete joke, the burgers are just tasteless with 6 potatoes worth of fries on the side. The pizza we ordered for the kids however was surprisingly tasty and probably the best main I've had here.
Now...dessert...don't be duped. I don't know what a lot of people think cheesecake is, but frozen custard and ice cream aren't ingredients that come to my mind. It's totally not what I was expecting when I ordered cheesecake. Some of it is good, the key-lime might actually harm someone, an in general, I'm just unimpressed.
2 Stars b/c there is something worth coming back for, but you'll wait a while & pay for it.
