No problems here!. I have had problems either at the facilities in Huber or Kettering. I have had to ask for assistance and have not had any problems with getting it. There have been times when the trainers have been walking past and have asked ME if I needed assistance or to correct when I was not using the equipment just right to get the maximine benefit. I have also seen them do the same for others. I also have noticed that some of them will watch as you work out from a distance for awhile and then will ask if you need asssistance if they think you are having trouble.. I feel the Kettering facility is the nicest due to the larger space, but I am quite pleased with the staff at both locations. I enjoy the Zumba classes and the sauna. I realize the trainers also have other duties, but if I need one I have not yet had an issue. I was not told about the $19.66 yearly fee either and that should have been addressed before I signed up. However, I am pleased with my membership and enjoy going to the facilities.
Read a Contract BEFORE You Sign..
If you sign a contract, read it first.
Also, I'm very happy with the gym on Kingsridge. The rates are FAR cheaper than the YMCA...and Premier Ladies Fitness offers more equipment and better hours! I highly recommend it. If you are not sure about joining because of some bad reviews, please check this place out for yourself and make your OWN decision, I'm glad I did. If you feel pressured into getting a membership and don't want one, just say no, duh.
Written contract doesn't reflect what I was told verbally.
Was told that I could put membership on hold or cancel at any time and there was no contract. Yet, the print on the Promissory Note to pay almost $1200 said nothing of this ability to suspend, put on hold or cancel. Legally obligated to pay them $1200. Also the sales person did not fill the data in until after I had signed it. Contract also stipulated the clothes that women and men may wear. Sexist as hell. Women, you get to wear leotards with tights or shorts & shirts *required* - no sweat pants, but notice the clothing that fits very tight or is short to show skin. Men, you get to wear gym shorts or sweat suits (no tights or leotards for you) and there is a $19.98 annual fee to maintain the place that was never mentioned at any point during the 1+ hours of the "sell". Now, the monthly rate was very attractive and if the "agreement" (not contract folks) was truly as it was verbally represented, then I would join and wear those required shorts overtop my tights or wear my tights and leotard under my sweat pants.
I needed my reading glasses to truly be able to read the fine print and was curious about their business ethics so went through with the deal. Was HUGE red flag when salesperson asked me to sign before filling out any of the pricing. Having years in contract management, I smelled a problem, but knew I had 3 days to cancel it. Got home and read the whole agreement and am saddened that this type of deception is still practiced so widely. The sales rep used the line I have heard too many times since arriving in the midwest, that has also come to mean "be careful" - "the owner is a Christian." Well, so far the 3 businesses that have used that liine to demonstrate their values, have been ones that behaved badly.
Will be returning to ask for an agreement that reflects what I was told verbally. Will not likely be provided such, and will cancel and will report them to the agency that takes business complaints (this site apparently won't allow the name) (where, by the way, they have had 23 complaints). If you are looking to make a $1200 - 3 year commitment, and are ok with such specific clothing requirements being put in the agreement, rather than the more typical (athletic/work out clothing) the place looked like it had good equipment and appeared clean. You also get the services of tanning, classes and their trainer, for the monthly price. If you want a one year or true month to month, then BE REAL CAREFUL.
Pushy Pushy Pushy!. So I went in for a free session with a personal trainer that I had "won." I met a girl who was just doing this for her summer job from college. She worked me out for an hour and a half until I was truly exhausted. Then I had to sit and meet with a lady who pushed a membership. She demanded to know when I would be back, or when I would decide about membership. She kep having little side conversations with the trainer about me, while I was sitting there! The child care area looked small and over crowded, and I was told that they don't have to adhere to ratios, like that's a good thing. I will be acalling to say no way this evening. Hopefully, I won't be plagued with follow-up calls.

FALSE ALLEGATIONS. TODAY I WAS FALSELY ACCUSED OF MAKING OUT WITH ANOTHER MEMBER/(NO LONGER STAFF) IN THE GYM BY THE SO CALLED NEWLY APPOINTED "MANAGER" THERE WAS NO PROOF OF THIS BUT WHAT HURTS IS THAT IT WAS FALSE. I AM A MARRIED WOMAN -- I AM OUTRAGED BY THIS ALLEGATION-- AND THE MANAGER TOLD ME I WOULD BE OUT IF THIS HAPPENED AGAIN -- I DIDNT DO ANYTHING TO DESERVE THIS-- BUT THEN HE SAID HE IS SUSPICIOUS ON STUFF THAT GUY IS DOING IN TH GYM BUT HE JUST THOUGHT IF I WAS PART OF ANYTHING!! THIS IS WHAT U GET INTO IF U JOIN THIS GYM. THE MANAGER PUBLICALLY MADE A SEXUAL COMENT TO A WOMEN INFRONT OF ME. WHAT HE DOES IS ALRIGHT AND HE CAN FALSELY ACCUSE AND RUIN A GOOD NAME OF A WOMAN SINCE HE FEELS HE OWNS THE GYM NOW. BEWARE LADIES A BIG BAD WOLF LURKS WHO LIES AND IS VERY DECEITFUL. THE WOMEN IN THAT GYM KNOW TO STAY AWAY FROM HIM BUT IF YOU JOIN U WONT KNOW HIM HE WILL DAZZLE U WITH THE SAME STORY WE ALL HAVE HEARD AND LAUGH ABOUT IN LADIES ROOM. SO DONT JOIN IF YOU KNOW WHATS GOOD FOR YOU OR UR NAME WILL BE RUINED BECAUSE YOU SAID NO TO HIM.
HORRIBLE PLACE TO JOIN BECAUSE OF JD. This gym is one of the worst places to join. Save ur money and join a decent place. Reason- the staff- as u walk in the staff starts to talk about ur looks, ur weight, ur ethnicity, if ur with this person or that. Its ridiculous. Its a bunch of men (staff) who act like teenagers and its sickening to my stomach. Saying its a "ladies club" and placing these types of men doesnt speak much for the company's values or the owner. They have men training the women which is improper then they talk about the women they have just trained. watch urselves ladies.
we need mary back soon. hey everyone want happ to mary that work in the in the daycare she was so nice to everyone my kides love her she need to came back mary need to came back soon
Disappointing.
I've been at this gym for almost three years now. I had one of the trainers approach me today and tell me not to stand too close to the cardio room area because the pilates class needed a peaceful workout environment. I was a bit irritated because I was checking out the class to see if I was interested in attending. I was standing OUTSIDE the entry and not anywhere close to disturbing those working out INSIDE the classroom. I guess bcause I didn't move the trainer sent the male (manager?) over. I still didn't move. Seriously, if I'm going to go to a class, I'm going to check it out first. No woman or man is going to tell me I don't have the right to do this!
I love the zumba class with Jane. She is really great. Every class is packed and I really wish the cardio room was bigger, but I deal with it by trying to get there early. I find it disappointing that so many of the girls that come to the class act like high school kids. They act like they "own" a particular spot on floor and if you've by chance landed in their area before they are able to get there they try to intimidate you by rude remarks and try to push you out of "their space" while you are working out.
Jesh, I just want to go and have a good workout. I go to get rid of stress, not be stressed out by trainers who won't let me check out a class or silly girls acting like they own a piece of the place. I'm sure they paid as much for their spot as I did.
I don't plan on renewing my contract when it is over. Too bad because my month to month rate will be lower but I would rather spend a few extra dollars to work out with ADULTS who like to destress rather than leave there wondering why I even bothered!
WES should read this..
I'm pasting my response here. I wrote this in response to a complaint about the man working in the gym at Kettering.
I agree he does not need to be there. He will however be there for the duration. I was told he's the new manager. He was the original owner and is now back. I've been told by trainers that the Muslim women aren't able to work out there now because he's there. I don't like how he only pays attention to Tiffany the one trainer and he only helps out the very thin and attractive women on the floor. He's almost flirty. I find it offensive. It's VERY obvious that he has his preferences. His wife should open her eyes. If he is going to be there, the best thing he could do for the place, since he wants to "fix things up" is to fire Sharon and her daughter for one. They are pushy, gossip queens. Secondly, get rid of the 50 year old with the long blonde hair and horrible tan at the front desk. She's just unfriendly. There is also a young girl who works in the daycare who looks shady. I'm not sure what it is. I've seen her once with a black eye, the other times she looks hungover. I've brought people to work out with me and have specifically not returned because of the pushy Sharon. Another thing, the first 3 days after I joined, Sharon and her daughter acted like they were my best friends, now they don't even know my name, let alone wave to me or smile at me. They've got my money, job done. It's pathetic. The man seems nice enough, but if he really wants to do something about that gym, he'd reads these posts and take the advice of his customers.
