Dont believe the hype. I moved to Dayton from the Toledo area, and as a lover or pizza, everyone here told me to go to Marion's for the best pizza in town. I honestly dont see what is so good about it, the only advantage I can see is that its cheap. I lived in Bowling Green, Ohio, and they have probably 4 or 5 local pizza joints that are all better than this place. Its just very standard thin crust pizza.

Here is my biggest beef with this place:

All of there ingredients are stuff you can get at Gordon Foods, and I wouldnt be at all suprised if that is where they get it. Their sauce is generic and comes out of a can, their crusts come shipped in pre-made, etc, they dont make any of it in house. Its not even as good as Donatos, and generally speaking I hate to eat at chains. I challenge any Dayton person to explain what is so good about it instead of saying "I grew up on it so I love it."

If you are in Dayton, check out Dewey's instead. They are a smaller chain with 5 or 6 restaurants, and their pizza blasts Marion's out of the water. They make their own crust and sauce from scratch. Fresher ingredients, more unique combinations, Marions may be the most overhyped restaurant I have ever been to.

On the flip side, its still pizza, so its still good!

User review by glains. IN AND AROUND THE DAYTON AREA, YOU WILL NOT FIND A BETTER PIZZA! PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT USED TO THE "DAYTON STYLE" OF PIZZA MAY BE DISAPPOINTED WITH THE PRODUCT BECAUSE IT IS NOT "EAST COAST" PIZZA OR "DEEP DISH" PIZZA, BUT YOU CANNOT ARGUE WITH 40 YEARS OF SUCCESS!
