Tips for Maple Oaks Apartments

February 19, 2013

I currently live here and believe it to be a nice and maintained complex. Yes the walls are thin and you can hear almost anything, but it doesn't bother us a darn bit. The only problem we have are with the kids in the complex, they are darn hooligans and run in the traffic and could care less of what an adult says to them, their mouth needs soap in it for one. Management is very good, Pat does a great job. We have been here almost 13months and are about to resign. The rent is very affordable.

Happy to be home!. I needed to find a great place for my son and I, and I found it!. I have been looking at places for a while and I am definitely happy that I chose Maple Oaks. They worked around my schedule, they stayed late so I could look at an apartment(no other apartment manager would!) Now that I am all moved in I know I will be here for a long time. I would reccomend living here to anyone, they really have taken great care of us!

Went for a tour, left with 3 bug bites on my legs!. My husband and I are expecting our first and so now we need a two bedroom apartment. We met with the manager, Pat, who was very polite over the phone, and scheduled a tour. We were instantly disappointed with the grounds; lots of cement, asphalt and old paint, but since we had already made the 20 minute drive, we figured we should see if maybe the insides were better.

While waiting on the manager to arrive at her office, I thought I was getting bites on my lower legs and ankles but wasn't sure because I didn't see any bugs. Later I would find out that these were flea bites. Joy.

She seemed both polite and amicable at first, until she asked the other applicant (a black gentleman) if instead of finishing his application in the office if he would mind filling it out in his car...in 90+ degree heat with his toddler in tow...I can't believe he did it. She then locked the office on the way out. This shows one of two things, either she didn't trust him, or she doesn't trust anyone. Either way, fairly crap way to treat a prospective tenant.

The apartments were crap. The hallways smelled and looked like a very bad nursing home. Weird awkward placement of rooms and chaotic set up, we could hear the neighbors talking both in the hallway and apartment, the carpet from room to room didn't match, and the bath tubs were so disgusting, I wouldn't clean my garbage can out in it.

Even for the price, which she quoted a 2 bedroom as 525 with a 25 fee for a cat (you know, to protect their disgustingly stained carpet), which I guess is reasonable for a 2 bedroom, this is not worth anything.

DO NOT MOVE IN HERE. WARNING!!!! DO NOT MOVE INTO THESE!!! Price seemed fair at first. Walls are way too thin. you are able to hear everything in adjoining apartments, and i do mean EVERYTHING! Pet rules do not apply to everyone, they say only say they allow small dogs, but apparently that only applies to certain tenants. Constantly being visited by police, always smelling drug use. Dryers vent into the apartment, its always hot. air conditioners leak into apartments and not sealed during winter, can see right outside. Only half the burners on the stove work. There is mold growing in the bathroom ceiling about the shower. Any complaints about noise, or drug use, you are advised to deal with that yourself.

best in the area for the money. I just moved in at Maple Oaks mid-November and I'm very pleased with my apartment-it's much bigger than most two bedrooms! Yes, the walls are a little thin, but not any worse than other places I've lived. The manager is very nice, and she was willing to work with me to pay the deposit in increments so I would have some money for Christmas. When I called about a problem it was fixed within a few days. Overall, this place is good for the money!

Worth it?. When a friend first moved into these apartments they were well worth the money. But now they are under new management and they are raising the rental price, and truly not worth the price they are asking for. They are trying to make an old building look nicer on the outsides, but no matter how well you make them look, the walls tell all. The walls are paper thin.. Not work 530.00 by the year 2009
