Pepito's Mexican Restaurant & Cantina. 4.5 Stars on the food and service. After over 20 years Arizona, largely hanging out in the Loop, I was afraid I would never find authentic Mexican food at a restaurant anywhere around Dayton.

After many false starts at places with 1 foot high "authentic" (hardly) signs, I met a Mexican woman and she said to get my hiney down to Pepitos. Well, I did.

Place was hopping at 4 on a weekday afternoon! Ambiance is more like Tijuana, but the food five star if you know Mexican cooking.

If you are looking for a "pretty" dining room with lots of charm/warmth and Festive, you find it here. If you want GREAT Mexican, stroll on in and park it in a hard plastic booth. Gracias Pepitos, I been needing you! Sign me a new regular.

Worst meal we have had in 15 years. The bar must keep this place open because the food is awful. If I could rate it less than 0, I would. Three of us dined there and each meal was as bad as the next. The salsa tasted like watered down tomato sauce and was beyond bland. Our meals were equally bad. Everything tasted watered down and bland. I can't remember a worse meal in my 52 years of life. Service was barely better than the food. If you paid me $500 or more I might eat there again. Otherwise, NEVER again.
