It's OK. I have been going here for many years and like my stylist. She listens to what I ask for, and does a good job on my blonde color. The front desk staff generally are young women with no personality. they check you in and that's about it. I do not have to wait long at all. They have a good selection of hair products (Aquage, "It's a 10", Michael's brand), a few types of flatirons and OPI polishes. I hate the lighting in the place, it's kind of a headache-inducing artifical hospital light. Other than that, I leave happy. A word of caution-a lot of girls with thick hair leave there flat ironed. I think it's a lazy way to style hair. How about a nice blowout?

THE WORST SALON EVER!. Yes this salon is officially the worst salon I have ever been to. I had an appointment today for a color correction, I was in the waiting room for about 10 minutes when the receptionist informed me that the stylist could no longer do my hair. I hurried to get there after work to find out Joy didn't have time, they sent me home and apologized for the mix up. I was shocked, isn't that what appointments are for? So unprofessional!

Worst salon in Dayton!. I went in just to shape up my hair, trim off split ends and shape my bangs. I conveyed this to my hairstylist and she acted like she agreed to what I was saying. However, she cut my hair not at all how we agreed!

Her intern came over to straighten my hair. She said she would straighten it just as I do at home and she did- and I hated it. My hair looked like a box and I had layers only two inches long.

When my stylist came back over, she messed with my hair again, used defining cream and hairspray until my hair looked decent. When I asked about the products she used she said it was out of my price range

Basically, you pay for a $60 haircut that doesn't look good until you buy their $60 product to put in. Not worth it

Not worth your money. I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Michael's Salon. I went in two days ago to get my bangs cut and ended losing 4 inhes of my hair! My hairstylist and I discussed that I wanted to keep my hair the same length yet without further talking with me she cut off all my hair. On top of that, the bangs she gave me are straight across, not side swept like I asked.

I absolutely do not recommend this place unless you with for your stylist to disregard your wishes completly and go ahead and do what they want with your hair.

Decent Choice. I have been to Michael's several times, only for hair services including cuts & color. I pay extra to have the more experienced stylists. I failed to do this initially and I had a nasty cut with lots of split ends in a short amount of time.

The stylists seem to have an edgey style and a lot of the cuts looks similar. I guess I'm more old fashioned and I like the blow-out look instead of just plain flat-ironed like I do for myself every day. One stylist did this and I was sooo thrilled. So if you prefer this, ask.

They are really good about educating on how to style the new cut. And they are also good about letting you grow out your hair! This is the only place i've gone that actually will let you get just a 1/2 " off or an inch without taking 3 off! One stylist told me to make sure you ask about this beforehand because some stylists will not allow you to have less cut off if your ends are bad. I don't mind going the recommended 6 weeks or so when they actually do what i ask!

Make sure you sign up for their emails or facebook group as they frequently have 20% off deals and other promos.

wonderful salon. i have only been going here since oneys went out of business. They do a great job on my hair and makeup. The only drawback is the price.

Dayton's best salon!. I've been going to Michael's for over 8 years and have really had great results. I went from really long hair to short hair about 5 years ago and Bess did a great job! I love it! And I've changed from blonde to dark to blonde. I've had great experiences at Michael's!

New York coifure is here in Dayton. On my first visit, when I walked through the door, I knew I was somewhere special. Michael's is very much New York ! Very cool for Dayton Ohio. Since that first day, I have never been disappointed in my cut, color, style, or anything else. Last birthday, my husband gave me a spa package. What a day that was! The massage was so relaxing that I did not want to leave. Hope he gives me a package for Christmas as I cannot wait to be pampered again. They also have a great selection of products to use in between visits. I especially like the Swell Gel and this is the only place you can get it. I wouldn't think of going anywhere else for my salon and spa services. Keep up the great work, guys!

I wouldn't go elsewhere!!. I have been a client at Michael's for over 5 years now and I would never go to another place. The people there are very friendly every time I go in, and also very helpful if I ever have any questions. My stylist is always attentive to my wants and specific needs and always delivers the best service possible. I also cannot help but to notice the interaction with all the other designers and their client's while I am there. Everyone is just so friendly and I have never seen an unsatisfied customer while there.I deff agree with suziebell...I think the people with the bad reviews are themselves a bad experience, period. When you go in expecting higher standards than what is possible for you, you will have a bad experience because you didn't get what you wanted. It's difficult to please somebody who is impossible to please. Michael's is an upscale salon and would never hire somebody if they did not show competency. I do not believe these bad ratings to be valid or reliable...it is just a reflection of poor character and an unwillingness to accept a professional's opinion and attempt to please. Michael's is the BEST salon and spa I have ever visited and could not think of one bad thing to say about it.

WONDERFUL SERVICE!!. Great service; relaxing atmosphere -- and Dennis is the best! I always have many compliments on my hair cut and style. Fabulous selection of products.
